The Rebels come in at 10-11 on the season and sixth in the Mountain West. A win for the Bulldogs would draw them even with the Rebels in the conference.
This is the second meeting between these two conference rivals. The Rebels defeated the ‘Dogs on Dec. 20, 2025, 84-72. Despite losing by 12, the Bulldogs held a four-point lead in the second half.
The Bulldogs will look to start the month of February off on the right foot and build off their last game as they make their push toward the Mountain West Conference tournament.
David Douglass Jr. and Kimani Hamilton Sr. were assessed technical fouls during a media timeout. Naas Cunningham and Bastien Rieber were assessed technical fouls with eight minutes to play in the second half. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn and DeShawn Gory were assessed technical fouls late in the second half.
The Bulldogs went on a 10-0 run to give themselves the lead mid-way through the first half.
It took the Bulldogs 3:20 to find nylon in the second half.
Jake Heidbreder won it for the ‘Dogs with a buzzer-beater. The Bulldogs ended the night on a 7-0 run in the final 6.8 seconds.
Three flagrant fouls were called, two on the Rebels.
Gibbs-Lawhorn, Kimani Hamilton, Emmanuel Stephen and Issac Lawhorn fouled out for the Rebels. Zaon Collins has fouled out for the Bulldogs.
