The Bulldogs defeated the three-win Falcons Saturday afternoon with a final score of 93-63.

Deshawn Gory and Wilson Jacques led the Bulldogs in scoring with 18 points each. Even without team-leading scorer Jake Heidbreder, the Bulldogs were able to handle the Falcons at home.

Every Bulldog, except those out with an injury, played in the Bulldogs’ home win against the Falcons.

The Bulldogs’ defense stifled the Falcons all afternoon. The Falcons shot just 39% and committed 18 turnovers. The Bulldogs would go on to score 26 points from those turnovers.

From the opening tip, the Bulldogs controlled the game. They jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the Falcons in the game’s opening minutes and would only grow their lead from there.

The Bulldogs improve to 12-13 on the season, 6-8 in Mountain West Conference play. They next head north to Wyoming to take on the Cowboys on Feb. 17, with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs’ lead has grown to its largest of the afternoon at 27 points late in the second half.

The Falcons have not made a field goal in the last four minutes, with only six players having scored in today’s contest.

The Bulldogs lead 84-57 with 3;43 remaining.

Despite Hobin having a game-high 26 points for the Falcons, no other teammate is in double figures.

Meanwhile, for the Bulldogs, they have three players in double figures. Gory leads the scoring with 18, as Jacques has 16 and Zaon Collins has 11.

The Bulldogs are in front of the Falcons 77-55 with just over seven minutes remaining.

The Falcons called a timeout following a foul that was committed by Falcons’ Kam Sanders.

Bulldogs’ Bastien Rieber was hit in the face while defending Sanders in the frontcourt. The foul on Sanders was upgraded to a flagrant, and Rieber was given two free throws.

The Bulldogs lead 65-48 over the Falcons with just over 12 minutes remaining in the second half.

The Bulldogs have made their last four shots, however the Falcons are hanging around thanks to their 3-point shooting. The Falcons have made seven 3-pointers on the afternoon and are shooting 37% from beyond the arc.

The Bulldogs dominated much of the first half against the Falcons, leading 45-33. However, they missed several opportunities to possibly extend their lead.

The Falcons closed the first half on a 6-0 run to cut the Bulldogs’ lead to 12. Late in the first half, the Bulldogs went six minutes without making a field goal.

Gory, along with center Wilson Jacques, lead the Bulldogs in scoring with 10 points each. Falcons’ freshman forward Lucas Hobin has a game-high 17 points, including four made 3-pointers.

Late in the first half, Walberg was frustrated with his team being slow to get back on defense and even called a timeout with under a minute remaining to talk to his team.

The Bulldogs have dominated much of the first half against the Falcons; however, a six-minute stretch without a made field goal and players being slow to get back on defense have left Bulldogs’ coach Vance Walberg frustrated.
