Guard Zaon Collins looks to make his return after a one game absence. Collins suffered a leg injury in the win against Wyoming which forced him to sit out in the Bulldogs’ last game. Without Collins, the ‘Dogs lost 83-74 on the road to the New Mexico Lobos.

Despite going into halftime with a three point lead, the Rams were able to fend off the Bulldogs for a 68-55 victory.

The Bulldogs defense kept them in the game, but a 28-point third quarter from the Rams was the difference Saturday afternoon.

While they held the Rams to just 20 points in the first half, missed layups and nine turnovers cost the Bulldogs from capitalizing furhter on their three-point halftime lead.

Madelyn Bragg had a game-high 18 points for the Rams. Emilia Long had a team-high 17 points for the Bulldogs, followed up by 16 points from Danae Powell.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 10-11 on the season and 4-6 in Mountain West Conference play. The Bulldogs will travel to Wyoming on Jan. 28 to play the Cowgirls.

Through the first half of the fourth quarter the Rams have outscored the Bulldogs 10-4 to extend their lead to 13 at one point.

The Rams defense has forced numerous Bulldog turnovers and have held the Bulldogs to just two made field-goals in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs’ defense has kept them in this game, preventing the Rams from scoring a field goal for four minutes.
