Upcoming Save Mart Center events this semester

The Save Mart Center (SMC) at Fresno State is back to regularly hosting not only Fresno State Athletics but other major performers this semester despite struggling with delays and cancellations throughout 2020.

On Feb. 24 the SMC will welcome the Harlem Globetrotters to the court for the Fresno stop of their Spread Game Tour.

Singer Ana Gabriel, who has earned 20 top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and released more than 30 albums over the years, will be back with a new show the next night on Feb. 25.

Top Ranking Boxing returns on March 4 when Central Valley native José Ramirez returns home to fight former two-weight world champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza in the 12-round main event that was rescheduled from Feb. 5 after Pedraza contracted COVID-19. Mexican singer songwriter Pancho Barraza takes the stage the following night on March 5. 

PBR is back in Fresno March 19 to 20 for the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour, bringing a star-studded collection of some of the world’s best riders to town. Their previous stop in Fresno in Aug. 2021 was one of the first events at the SMC following its reopening after COVID-19. 

MercyMe, 2018’s Top Christian Artist as decided by Billboard Music Awards, will bring their Inhale (Exhale) Tour to Fresno on March 27 with guests Rend Collective and Andrew Ripp.

Monster Jam will be celebrating their 30th anniversary during four different shows at the SMC from April 1 to 3. The Monster Jam Pit Party fan experience will also be available prior to Saturday and Sunday events for fans to see their favorite trucks and riders up close if they have a $20 pit pass.

Blippi The Musical takes the popular kids’ show from screen to stage on April 7. Blippi is considered a global sensation with over 34 million YouTube subscribers and one billion views per month.

Comedy fans can find entertainment at Jo Koy’s Funny is Funny World Tour on April 8. Koy has appeared on over 140 episodes of Chelsea Lately and other talk shows such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Puerto Rican singer and rapper and Latin Grammy award winner Raúw Alejandro will be performing on April 15 at SMC. Later that month on April 23 “Ladies’ Night Out” will be headlined by R&B singer songwriter Keith Sweat, featuring acts 112, Soul for Real, Amanda Perez and Frankie J.

Ricard Arjona, who had over 3 million fans watch his streaming concert Hecho a La Antigua, brings his Blanco y Negro Tour to the SMC on April 29. Closing out the month, Academy of Country Music Awards’ two-time New Male Artist of the Year nominee Cody Johnson will be bringing his “Cody Johnson and Friends Tour” to the SMC on April 30.

To end the semester the SMC will be bringing four-time Grammy award winning duo for KING & COUNTRY to town for their “What Are We Waiting For? – The Tour.” for KING & COUNTRY brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone will be joined on tour by Dante Bowe of Bethel and Maverick City Music.

Tickets for these events are available at varying prices at savemartcenter.com. Further details about events are also included on the website. Additional events may still be announced throughout the semester.

As of Feb. 16, 2022 the SMC is only requiring masks indoors for persons five years of age and older who are not vaccinated. Otherwise individuals must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within one day for an antigen test and two days for a PCR test prior to entry.
