Valley native storms onto the pop scene

One Central Valley native is making a name for himself in Los Angeles as a pop recording artist. Conrad, born and raised in Madera Ranchos, has close roots to Fresno, having grown up in the area. In addition to having a sister who attends Fresno State, Conrad recorded his second music video at Rome Nightclub on Cedar and Dakota Avenues during the last weekend of March.

Rising electronic music duo Zeds Dead will be making a stop in Fresno for a night of heavy bass, dazzling lights and a sea of sweaty fans. Level 10 Productions, a student-run event production company, is bringing “The Living Dead Tour” to Fresno’s Rainbow Ballroom on April 19.

Flash mob promotes health, fitness

Dozens of students from the Midnight Dance Fusion class surprised campus on Wednesday with a flash mob dance routine to promote the class as a healthy and fun workout alternative. In celebration of National Nutrition Month, the Student Dietetic Association on campus had the idea to organize a flash mob to promote health and wellness.

Music from Baroque era performed in regional concert

The art of the Baroque era was revived last weekend. Music students from the Valley participated in the Fresno County Baroque Festival on Saturday, Feb. 18. Participants were judged and given a score that determined if they were eligible to perform at a regional concert held in March.

Blink 182 returned from hiatus last year with their irreverent attitude and songs about teenage problems.­ Playing at a venue such as the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. to kick off their greatest hits tour last year had to be a great concert.­ Unfortunately, I was not able to attend.­ I did however do some backtracking to make up for lost time.

Saturday, November 12, I attended a Childish Gambino concert. For those of you who don’t know who C.G. is, you may have seen Donald Glover on NBC’s Community as Troy Barnes or you may have seen his 30 minute stand up special on Comedy Central. He has also written episodes of 30 Rock.
