Even with Kendra Walker-Roche’s and Tierre Wilson’s career high nights, the Bulldogs were unable to come back against the Santa Clara Broncos Dec. 9.

Walker-Roche was five for five beyond the arc and had a career high 17 points, while Wilson led the Bulldogs with 26 points.

The teams dueled back and forth early in the game, with the Bulldogs taking the lead 7-5. But the Broncos battled back and soon led the game 25-15. The Bulldogs stayed in the fight with Brittani Green making two free throws and Walker-Roche nailing her first 3-pointer.

The Broncos went into the second half leading 40-31. Santa Clara’s Chandice Cronk had 22 points on the night and the Broncos were leading by 16 with 16 minutes remaining in the game.

Fresno State was able to cut the lead to nine with less than five minutes on the clock. But Santa Clara kept the distance, finishing the game, 80-73.

The Bulldogs are back home at the Save Mart Center on Dec. 16.
