Peter Yarrow and his daughter Bethany have dedicated a good portion of their lives to making the world a better place. On Tuesday, Yarrow and his daughter will host a lecture in the Satellite Student Union. The lecture “Father and Daughter and Beyond: A Legacy of Commitment and Activism” is scheduled for 7 p.m.

As a member of the ‘60s group Peter, Paul and Mary, Peter Yarrow helped write such classics as “Puff the Magic Dragon.”

Bethany Yarrow has traveled throughout the world and has seen disparity. In 1992 Bethany Yarrow created a documentary to expose the realities of apartheid in South Africa. The documentary was selected for competition in the Sundance film festival and others.

“This lecture is a good example of how the university is providing top-notch programs,“ Shirley Armbruster, Director of University Communications, said. “You often hear students say there is nothing to do. Hopefully students will take advantage of these opportunities.”
