It’s not quite a winning streak yet, but it’s a start.

After weeks of playing some of the nations’ best teams with minimal success, the Fresno State (2-9) volleyball team found the path back to winning as it defeated the UC Davis Aggies in a five game thriller (30-28, 33-31, 15-30, 28-30, and 17-15).

Bulldogs freshman Lacey Gera led the team with 24 kills on the night and received plenty of help from her teammates, including senior Alison Pitton, who recorded a double-double after tallying 15 kills and 30 digs.

Fresno State will next start conference play as it visits Utah State Sept. 21 for both teams’ Western Athletic Conference opener.
