The Fresno State women’s soccer team opened up its season with two wins last week.
Last Friday the squad defeated San Francisco State 2-0 before beating Cal State Northridge on Sunday 1-0. Alison Sill assisted with all three goals of the weekend, picking up three assists for her efforts.
Angie Larsen was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week after netting 11 saves in both games and recording two shutouts as she played every minute of the weekend.
The team will next take on the No. 10 ranked Florida Gators this afternoon at 4 p.m. before traveling to Orlando to play Central Florida on Sunday.
Today’s game will be the first meeting between the Bulldogs and the Gators although Fresno State head coach Steve Springthorpe previously served as an assistant coach there for four years and numerous other members of the coaching staff have ties to the university as well.

Women’s Volleyball
The Fresno State women's volleyball team will take on Pac-10 powerhouse USC in a match-up Friday.
The Trojans are winners of two of the past five national championships and are once again ranked among the natin's best teams.
Fresno State (1-3) is coming off a third place showing in its own Fresno State Invitational, which ended Sunday.
Nine of the Bulldogs' 16 members are freshmen, which has led to a higher amount of errors this season.
Fresno State has made 104 attacking errors so far this season, while its opponents have combined for 77.
Junior outside hitter Alisha McKee leads the team with 52 kills.
