If you are a student graduating during Fresno State’s 95th Commencement on May 20, and you aren’t sure if you’ve done everything that you need to do to prepare, a few pointers may set your mind at ease.

First, if you have not purchased your cap and gown —no worries, employees at the Kennel Bookstore, where you can purchase all of your graduation items, said caps and gowns will be available until the day of graduation.

The Kennel Bookstore will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of graduation for anyone that needs to purchase items.

Although there is not technically a deadline to purchase announcements, Kim Spencer, assistant merchandising buyer for the Kennel Bookstore, said that announcements take about a week to print, so graduates should not wait until the last minute to purchase them.

Spencer said that there are still plenty of graduation items available in the Kennel Bookstore.

Graduates should also know where they are to meet on the day of graduation.

According to the Web site for the 95th Commencement Class of 2006, on the day of graduation, graduates are to enter the loading dock area of the Save Mart Center with cap and gown at 8 a.m. Graduates should only bring their cap and gown as there will be no place to put other items such as cameras or handbags.

The Web site also said that parking for graduates is in the lot east of the Save Mart Center on Chestnut Avenue. It is the closest parking lot to the loading dock area. Free parking is available to guests of the Commencement ceremony in all lots on campus and the lots surrounding the Save Mart Center.

Employees of the Kennel Bookstore will also be available in the assembly area for any last minute needs, such as tassels or caps.

On May 17 and 18, formal graduation photos will be taken at the Smittcamp Alumni House. For more information and to schedule and appointment, call the Fresno State Alumni Association at 278-2586.

The 95th Commencement Web site also said that professional photographers will be taking individual photos of each graduate as they leave the assembly area on the day of graduation.
