AS Senator promotes Bulldog pride

The Associated Students’ athletic senator, John Migliazzo, has grand ambitions about the role of students in Fresno State athletics. Among his proposed projects for this year, THEREDZONE is his top priority.

THEREDZONE is a student booster club to mobilize student participation in all Fresno State sporting events.

“I would like to bridge the relationships between the students and the athletic department,” Migliazzo said.

“THEREDZONE is a great opportunity to do that.”

Migliazzo, a 20-year-old junior from Merced, Calif., was the agriculture senator last year. During his time as agriculture senator, he served as an Ag Ambassador, a program that recruits high school students to join the agriculture program at Fresno State.

This year, Migliazzo wants to see more unified fan participation; from coordinating student cheers at games to organizing bus trips to away games.

Migliazzo said he wants to see THEREDZONE give students something they are lacking.

“So many people say there is nothing to do.” Migliazzo said. “THEREDZONE offers students something to do and a place to go where it’s safe and fun and virtually free.”

Currently, THEREDZONE is handing out free T-shirts at games to spread their name.

For more information on how to join or to ask questions, e-mail John Migliazzo at [email protected].
