Letter to our
Readers
Dear readers,
Last semester you voted in favor of The Collegian Referendum and gave
us the power to be an independent voice representing students on campus.
On behalf of The Collegian staff, I thank you.
While campaigning for the referendum, we made several promises.
We promised to bring you a more interactive paper, introduce more cartoons,
crossword puzzles, breaking news and an events calendar. We have kept
these promises.
Every Wednesday, The Collegian provides students with the Fun and Games
page, which includes cartoons, crossword puzzle and a calendar that covers
events on campus and around Fresno.
We have also introduced a breaking news section on our Web site to provide
our readers with 24-hour access to latest news affecting them. So far
we have been able to post breaking news items about our football team.
We are looking forward to introducing more interactive features such as
Web videos in the nearfuture.
We also promised to provide students with an open forum for discussion.
We have enhanced our award winning Web site and introduced The Collegian
Discussion Forum, where students can interact with one another and give
their opinion about issues free of charge.
To enjoy this service, please visit our Web site at collegian.csufresno.edu/forums and sign up using your Fresno State e-mail address.
The Collegian welcomes contributions from students of all majors. Currently,
our staff includes students from majors such as history, graphic design
and political science.
To become part of The Collegian reporting team, please pick up an application
from our office located at Speech Arts Building Room 169.
We are committed to providing the Fresno State community with student-oriented
news.
We believe that a newspaper’s most important responsibility is to
its readers.
Yours sincerely,
Maurice O. Ndole
