Dorm rape charges withdrawn

A woman who told police she was sexually assaulted in the dorms
has withdrawn her charge. “ The case is closed,” said
Michael Dunlap, university police chief. Dunlap said the whole
process is driven by the victim and police can not proceed with
further investigations if the victim withdraws
the complaint. Flyers posted around campus by university police
indicated the suspect entered the victim’s room at Baker
Hall on April 4 and sexually assaulted the victim, who was unconscious
at the

Associated Student 'Student Bill of Rights' gets
Academic Senate endorsement

The Academic Senate unanimously endorsed the Associated Students’ “Student
Bill of Rights and Responsibilities” Monday, after resolving
a dispute concerning the responsibility of faculty. The bill was
first given to the Senate for endorsement March 29, but was rejected
due to its requirement that professors give students

E-mail service to be encrypted by
May 24

Right now, your Fresno State e-mail is in danger. Cunning, unscrupulous
hackers could steal your username and password and you’d
never know. But this vulnerability will cease to exist after May
24 when Fresno State’s e-mail service will require users
to change their settings in order to encrypt their username and
password. Students will have until then to update the settings,
otherwise they won’t be able to access their e-mail.More>>
Official university notices to be sent by e-mail
in cost reduction effort

Students should be receiving a postcard from Fresno State sometime
this week. It may be the last one they ever receive. The postcard
announced that Fresno State will no longer send official university
notices by mail. Since this past Monday, the university
will issue the following only by e-mail to students’ csufresno.edu
