Childrens books head to library

A Donor of the Year reception is being held Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Henry Madden Library to acknowledge Michael Cart, one of three founders for the library’s children’s literature department.

The Arne Nixon Center has received a large donation of books from Michael Cart. So far the center has received more than 3,400 books and eventually 10,000-plus books and papers will be received.

Michael Cart is a reviewer, critic and teaches children’s and young adult literature at several universities. Cart has published books about children’s and young adult literature.
