Britney Spears plans March stop in Fresno

The big question on the minds of many local fans of Britney Spears: Is she really coming to Fresno?

Ever since Fresno was listed on her Web site Tuesday as the third stop for her “In the Zone 2004” tour promoting her newest album, local fans have had their fingers crossed.

Nobody is sure though. A listing on a Web site doesn’t make it so, especially when the site says, “itinerary subject to change.”

But fans like Fresno State student Tamra Albritton are already banking on the announcement.

“ When I heard I called all my friends and made plans to get tickets,” Albritton said. “Secretly, I think everybody loves Britney.”

Dates of when tickets will go on sale won’t be announced until plans are finalized.

Spears’ latest album, “In the Zone,” debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last week.
