Some friendly advice to help out liberals

-Art by Perry Hamilton

Maybe liberals couldn't see it because of their perceived self-righteousness, or because of their egotistical nature, but it is happening. The smoke of the past has graduated into an all-out inferno sweeping across America.

The idealism and philosophies of the liberal agenda are rapidly being destroyed in the minds of the American citizen, and liberals just seem to be in denial as to their current state of disarray. I feel obligated to reveal this to them by examining the results of the last three major elections held in the United States.

The first defeat came in 2000 when stunned liberals watched as Al Gore was defeated by a Texas cowboy making his first entry into the realm of national politics.

Un-fazed by this upset, liberals continued with their leftist message straight into the 2002 election cycle where they were once again defeated at the polls. In this election they lost control of the Senate, handing full power of the Congress over to the Republicans.

Though this must have been a humiliating defeat for many liberals, the ultimate defeat came inOctober. It was on this date that the crown-jewel of liberalism was stripped from the left and handed to a fiscal conservative, who also happened to be a first-time candidate/action-hero.

California, known in much of the country as the “Left-Coast” has historically been the headquarters of the liberal’s war against logic. And now it has been taken away from them.

Never fear, I have some advice for liberals that will help them get back in touch with the reality existing in the America of today.

First, liberals should stop trying to eliminate the Second Amendment. When asked, most Americans feel it is their Constitutional right to own a firearm for self-defense. Most people realize that taking away firearms from law-abiding citizenry places them in danger from those who choose not to abide by the law.

Next, liberals should stop trying to foist gay marriage on the American people. To be honest, most Americans feel marriage is—and should only be—the union between a man and a woman.

Americans want the sanctity of this institution protected by confining it to the union of only a man and a woman.

Third, liberals should take a look at their stance when it comes to religion. Many Americans feel it is acceptable for symbols such as the Ten Commandments, or statements like “In God We Trust” to be displayed in the public spectrum. Most Americans don’t feel there is anything wrong with publicly reminding people not to kill, lie or commit adultery.

They see these symbols as representations of basic moral standards, not an automatic trigger mechanism for lawsuits as many liberals see them. By trying to eliminate God, liberals are further distancing themselves from the reality of the American culture—one that does believe in a religious morality.

Finally, liberals should cease insisting that we need to follow the European model of society. Let’s remember that this is the same Europe that, only 60 years ago, allowed Hitler to rise to power—only to be saved by American generosity and military might. This is also the same Europe that our founders left to come to America and build the greatest nation ever. So maybe we do know what we are doing here in America. The only European I trust is King James, because I know that He will never let me down.

So for those with liberalism firmly instilled in your hearts, it may be a slow process, but I believe with time and reason, you will see how out-of-touch you are, and eventually, you will reconnect with the American people and be a conservative.
