Depression screening to be held Thursday

The University Health and Psychological Services will conduct a depression screening program for Fresno State faculty, students and staff on Thursday.

The participants of the free program will view a short video about the causes, symptoms and treatments of depression. They will also complete an anonymous depression checklist and have a brief, individual review of the checklist with a counselor.

This whole process will take about an hour for each student, said Dr. Gena Gechter, coordinator of psychological services at the Health Center.

The program, which is a part of the National Depression Screening Day, will be held at the Health Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
