The first goal came off the foot of Nokso-Koivisto in minute 29 from about 25 yards out. The ball hit the post and ricocheted into the goal. “ They weren’t one of the strongest teams we have faced,” said Nokso-Koivisto, “We dominated most of the game.” Nokso-Koivisto had a total of three shots firing just wide on two attempts. Sophomore midfielder Koleen Anderson took a high shot in the first half, which landed just beyond the post. The first half ended with the Bulldogs up 1-0, dominating in all aspects of the game by controlling the ball, completing passes, and taking shots. About seven minutes into the second half, Lewis found her way to the net from outside the box and put another point on the board for the Bulldogs. Nokso-Koivisto along with defender Kristyn Kellog and midfielder/forward Cortney Sobrero all had three shots. The Bulldogs totaled 20 shots overall and allowed the Hornets only six.
