The end of our final semester is right around the corner. It was seemingly never-ending, the busiest and most stressful one yet — but somehow, we finally made it.
Although we’re looking towards graduation ceremonies and celebrations, I can’t help but think of what comes next as many of my professors have switched their focus to resumé reels and networking tips. The real world.
It’s easy to spiral into the fears of the unknown. So here are a few reminders to help you (and me) quiet those post-grad anxious thoughts.
- Rejection is redirection.
- What’s meant for you will come in time, and what isn’t won’t stay.
- It’s okay to not know your next step.
- The only timeline you need to be on is your own.
- Most importantly: your degree is not your only value.
At the end of the day, your GPA , your LinkedIn and your degree can be summed up into a number, a website and a piece of paper. The real accomplishment that comes from graduating college is the person you walk away from this university as — through the things that you learned, the people that you met and the closing chapters that shaped you.
