As a little girl, I did what most little girls did: Played with my mom’s makeup. I couldn’t wait to be a “big girl” and build my own collection.
When the time came, it was peak 2017 and designer brand makeup was the way to go, according to the influencers I was looking to for guidance.
I saved my allowance to buy all of the products I heard about. From Too Faced eyeshadow palettes to Fenty Beauty lip gloss, the list of trending designer products was never-ending.
Now, there are still specific designer products that I would vouch for spending the higher prices on. But a majority of my makeup bag is full of drugstore products.
Here’s a list of my must-have, tried and true makeup products that work for me.

L’Oréal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation: Drugstore – $13.99
This foundation takes me through anything and doesn’t go anywhere. It has great coverage, doesn’t get oily and really lives up to its name.

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Mattifying Powder: Drugstore – $9.50
When MAC Cosmetics changed their powder formula, it was a total stab in the back. Lo and behold, I saved myself $30 when I discovered this powder.

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil: Prestige – $28
Being Armenian, you know those ethnic eyebrow genes have always been hardcore. The difference of this pencil from other cheaper pencils is the quality.
NARS Powder Blush: Prestige – $36
Yes, this is the NARS powder blush in their OG shade that I hate saying but won’t stop buying. Go see for yourself. This is the best blush I’ve ever put on my face. And the hint of shimmer? So worth it.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Firework: Drugstore – $14.99
My eyelashes are my best feature, and this mascara has never failed me. I spent more money than I would like to admit trying expensive mascaras — the quality was never worth the cost.

NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip: Drugstore – $10
This lip gloss, for me, is a great quality dupe to the Summer Fridays lip gloss. The beautiful color options and smooth application make it a staple in my makeup routine.
