It’s no secret that with this new technology-packed world, social media has become one of the most popular ways to consume news and stay informed.
There’s a social media account for everything: every restaurant, every business, every store and every event.
With that being said, here are 10 Instagram accounts that any Fresno State student should follow to stay informed about anything campus or community related.

1. @fscollegian
The Collegian, the creator of the paper you’re currently reading, is Fresno State’s independent student-run newspaper since 1922. The Collegian produces daily content online at fscollegian.com and on social media, ranging from five different sections: news, lifestyle, sports, opinion and multimedia.
This is Fresno State’s main Instagram page. The university posts a weekly calendar of events every Monday, as well as any campus updates.
Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is Fresno State’s official student government. ASI meets bi-weekly every Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. in the Resnick Student Union
Room 207. ASI is responsible for representing the student body in terms of financial allocations, student policies and club and organization support.
ASI senate meetings are open to the public, and the first one of the semester is on Sept. 3.
Fresno State Student Involvement is the promotional organization on campus that aims to get students immersed in campus activities. On its page, the content consists of club events, giveaway opportunities and free food opportunities.
Fresno State Spotlight Events is a campus organization responsible for putting on free events for students. The events are student-run and all-inclusive.
Campus Pointe is the shopping center across the street from Fresno State, where Maya Cinemas is located. There are various events and student-friendly vendor fairs that take place here, as well as an endless amount of food and drink options. It also has a great courtyard and a Starbucks for studying.
The Fresno State Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) is a medical facility directly on campus. The facility is free for students, aside from a fee included in everyone’s tuition. To read more about the SHCC, check out Page 12 for a list of the services offered there.
It’s no secret that one of the things Fresno State is most known for is its athletic teams. The Fresno State Athletics Instagram account produces athletic content from every sport, provides updates and announces upcoming sporting events.
Downtown Fresno is in the center of the city and houses a flurry of activities. There are various food and beverage options, it is easily accessible on foot, in the area, and events are always happening. One of the most popular downtown events is ArtHop, an art fair with a plethora of street food vendors.
10. @riverparkfresno
River Park is one of the many shopping centers in Fresno, but also the most active. There are almost daily events, as well as a weekly farmers’ market on Tuesdays.
