The Gibson Farm Market is bringing back Fresno State’s student-produced sweet corn tomorrow.
The market is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fresno State’s live mascot, Victor E. Bulldog IV, will make an appearance from 7:30- 8:30 a.m.
“Sweet corn is one of over 100 fresh, student-produced goods from the adjacent 1,000-acre University Agricultural Laboratory, one of the nation’s largest college on-campus farms,” said Lisa Bell, Fresno State’s public information officer, in a press release. “The history of campus sweet corn dates back to 1981, when a faculty member and students planted a test project on campus.”
This year’s batch has been in the works since Jan. 8, when it was initially planted on campus. The supply is expected to last until the end of August.
The market will remain open for the remainder of Memorial Day weekend from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The Gibson Farm Market also offers fresh produce, dried fruits and nuts, with over 20 ice cream flavors at the creamery.
