Fresno State forward Mia Jacobs was named to the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Midseason Watch List on Jan. 15.
The award honors Becky Hammon who is a legend in the sport. Hammon was a three-time All-American at Colorado State before having a successful career in the WNBA. She is now a two-time champion head coach of the Las Vegas Aces.
The Fresno State women’s basketball star is one of 15 players named to the midseason watch list, which includes players from 15 teams and 10 conferences.
Jacobs has been on a tear this season, leaving her mark on the record books as well as leading the conference in multiple offensive and defensive statistics.
Her 16 career double-doubles place her at No. 10 in Fresno State women’s basketball program history. She is also the first D-1 player to record consecutive 30-point double-doubles since Caitlin Clark.
Through 18 games played this season, Jacobs leads the Mountain West in points per game (19.1), rebounds (173), free throws (98) and double-doubles (11). She is also second in rebounds per game (9.6), steals per game (2.4) and total steals (43).
Jacobs is now only the second Fresno State women’s player in program history to be named to the watch list with the first being Haley Cavinder in 2022.
The Mountain West is one of five conferences to have two players on the list with Jacobs being joined by Colorado State’s Emma Ronsiek.
Five finalists will be named in early March with the winner announced around the Final Four.
