Week 1 of the NFL season is officially in the books and six former Fresno State Bulldogs got their first taste of action on the big stage.
Here are some of their biggest moments from Sunday’s action.
Davante Adams plays well despite Raiders loss
Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams took the field on Sunday when the Las Vegas matched up against the Los Angeles Chargers to open their season. The Raiders struggled to get anything going offensively for much of the game.
Adams, however, made the most of his effort to help his team. The veteran receiver hauled in five receptions on six targets while recording 55 receiving yards, averaging 11.8 yards per reception.
The former Bulldog made some history during the game, as he passed Chad Johnson (10,783 yards) for the 19th-most receiving yards through 151 career games in NFL history (per the Las Vegas Raiders’ PR team).
He continues to pass milestones, now in his 11th season in the NFL.
Unfortunately for him, it was not enough and the Raiders lost 22-10, starting the season 0-1.

Derek Carr shines in Saints 47-10 rout over Panthers
Former Bulldogs quarterback Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints faced the Carolina Panthers in week 1, hoping to start the season with a win.
Carr and the Saints would go on to do just that, as Carr led the way by completing 19 of 23 on his throws, while tossing for 200 yards and recording 3 touchdown passes. Carr finished the day with a 85.1 quarterback rating, which led the NFL for week one. Carr also added 13 rushing yards on 2 rushing attempts. The Panthers had no answers for the Saints passing attack all game, ensuring Carr’s performance was a key factor in sealing the 47-10 victory.
