After Fresno State parted ways with former athletic director, Terry Tumey, it took nearly three months before a new name took over as the face of the athletic department.
The announcement came via Instagram on June 21 that Garrett Klassy will be the next director of athletics.
Before coming to Fresno, Klassy was the deputy athletic director and chief revenue officer at the University of Houston where he began in 2023.
But his experience goes far back. Klassy was a part of the University of Nebraska, University of Oregon, University of Alabama and University of Wisconsin serving in the athletics department.
On Friday, June 28 a press conference will be held to formally introduce Klassy.
