The Tower District community is gearing up for another year of local performers ready to rock porches. On April 29 from noon to 8 p.m., attendees can catch community bands coming together for a day of neighborhood celebration.

Tower Porchfest takes place around the Tower District and its surrounding neighborhoods. It invites homeowners to allow local performers to utilize their porches and yards into makeshift stages. No ticket purchase is required for the event.

Currently, over 50 porches and yards are planned to feature local artists and vendors. Tower Porchfest will also feature booths for sponsors, including Goldstein’s Mortuary & Delicatessen, Strummer’s and Fresno Music Academy.

Strummers will also be hosting a “Porchfest Afterparty” taking place at 9 p.m., with tickets being available for purchase by guests 21 and over.

The committee of Tower Porchfest encourages attendees to travel on foot, bike, or skateboards in order to mitigate traffic for the event. The committee also encourages community members to sign up as volunteers to help distribute merchandise, answering attendees’ questions and spreading the word about the event. Volunteer shifts are two hours long.
