In only his first season playing for Fresno State, Murf Gray has already had an immediate impact on the Bulldog roster.

Gray, named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week five consecutive times, is April’s Top Dog of the Month. The Madera South High School graduate has made a crucial impact in earning runs for the ‘Dogs this month.
Gray has hit six home runs this season, all during the month of April. He’s posted a .287 hitting average.

His most recent home run was a two-run blast against top MW opponent San Jose State in an 8-3 victory.

He also led the Diamond ‘Dogs in a must-win victory against San Diego State. Gray hit two home runs, driving in four runs during the series.

After the series, San Diego State dropped to second place, while Fresno State moved up to third in the MW Conference.

He’s also kept up with nationally ranked competition, hitting two home runs against then No. 9 UC Santa Barbara.

Gray has not only been hitting but also working on his defense, with a 93 fielding percentage so far this season.
