Softball pitcher Hailey Dolcini announced transfer out of Fresno State

Fresno State senior pitcher Hailey Dolcini announced on Thursday, Sept. 16, that she will be entering the transfer portal.

In a Twitter post, Dolcini said that she will be graduating from Fresno State in December and has elected to pursue her master’s degree and softball career elsewhere.

After playing her freshman year at UC Riverside, she played three seasons for the Bulldogs receiving All-Mountain West first team three times, NFCA All-Region First Team and 2021 Mountain West pitcher of the year.

“Red Wave… Thank you for welcoming me into Fresno with open arms and making this place feel like home,” Dolcini announced in a tweet. “Those of you that know me, know how much I love this program and the Valley and can understand this decision was one of the most difficult decisions.”

Last season, she pitched for 23 complete games with an ERA of 1.12 — ranked No. 11 in the NCAA, threw 259 strikeouts, and ranked No. 1 in the NCAA.

“None of the success I had would have been possible without all of your support throughout the years,” Dolcini said in her post.
