Fresno State announced on Tuesday that it is allowing students to change their courses to the credit/no credit (CR/NC) grading option in the fall 2020 semester.
In a campus email, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval said undergraduate and graduate students have until Wednesday, Dec. 9 to make the change.
During the time between Aug. 19 and Dec. 9, students have the option to log back into their student center to change their grading option to either CR/NC or a letter grade.
As stated in the spring, academic departments have the option to opt out of the arrangement for their specific classes.
Some classes that may be opted out by departments include: a course tied to a credential program, a course tied to a licensing board that requires students to receive letter grades and/or a course that is part of an accredited program that requires students to receive letter grades.
The list of courses that have opted out of allowing students to request a CR/NC grade can be found here.
The university has extended this grading option in the spring semester and summer session as classes continue to be offered in a virtual format due to COVID-19.
