Presidential candidate coming to Fresno State

A U.S. presidential candidate will hold televised town hall at Fresno State.

Official details for Pete Buttigieg’s town hall were announced Thursday.

According to a tweet from Hardball, the event starts at 3:30 p.m. June 3 inside the Dennis and Cheryl Woods Theatre at Fresno State and will be hosted by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. The event will air live, starting at 4 p.m.

Tickets for the event were free but were sold out within an hour of the announcement.

Buttigieg is the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and has been noted for being the first openly gay candidate to run for the presidency.

The 37-year-old Democratic presidential candidate is one of 24 Democrats running in the 2020 elections

Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. and close promptly at 3:30 p.m. All guests will need to remain on site for the full duration of the taping. Seating will be on ­a first-come, first-served basis.

Promotional and political affiliation displays or clothing, large bags and backpacks, as well as firearms, are not permitted.

Although the tickets for the event are sold out, those interested may register for a waitlist on the MSNBC Eventbrite page.
