Random Fresno State students were asked about their opinion on how they feel about the public and their peers wearing President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” apparel and how it’s been linked with Trump’s campaign movement from 2017 on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
Find out what they said below and keep an eye out for Collegian reporters looking for students to ask the next question soon.

“I think it’s (MAGA hat) linked more negatively with the movement simply because you can feel that we want to make America great again but to advertise that product on the top of your head seems really, really assertive and aggressive. Very in your face while most people don’t necessarily advertise their political views on their body like that. It makes me uncomfortable, even if it’s something I might agree with, to blatantly have this political motto, specifically tied to a specific politician.” –Colleen O’Brien, English major
“Honestly, in my opinion, you can wear whatever you want on campus. Whether it be a MAGA hat or a shirt with whatever statement, like pro-life, pro-choice, black lives matter, all that different viewpoints across the spectrum. Although there is a risk with people having to disagree with you. I mean, it’s one thing for someone to disagree with a MAGA hat, or a pro-choice, black lives matter or pro-life thing but they should never attack you for anything you wear. You just disagree and leave them alone.” –Bradly Gonzalez, history major
