Ethics Lecture Series presents former Fresno Bee editor as guest speaker

The next installment of the Ethics Lecture Series at Fresno State will feature university professor and director of the Institute for Media and Public Trust Jim Boren on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m. in the Peters Building, Room 191, in the University Business Center.

Boren, who was formerly executive editor at The Fresno Bee, will discuss the value of ethical leadership in a news organization, as well as his experience reporting on leaders both in the community and globally, according to a university news release.

Boren was honored in May with an Ethical Leadership Award by the Fresno State Ethics Center and the Lyles Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the release stated.

The event is free to attend. Parking is available in lots P5 and P6 for $4.

The Ethics Lecture Series presents speakers with experience in various fields, who can offer insight on the ethical dilemmas and solutions they have faced in their work. Previous discussions have included prison reform, constitutional democracy and hate crime impact on minority communities.
