Cross Cultural and Gender Center Hosts The Life of Lei

Director, editor, and co-executive producer Matthew Broughton and Paul Hernandez present “The Life of Lei” at Fresno State.

On Friday Nov. 2 Fresno State Cross Cultural and Gender Center is hosting “The Life of Lei, The Man Behind The Makeup” in the North Gym.

It promises to give raw insight into the life of drag and what truly happens to the man who holds the heavy dress and stands on inch-high heels to put on a show.

The film focuses on Hernandez’s daily life as he juggles a myriad of responsibilities, from working with Fresno nonprofits, performing as Leilani and the severe toll it all takes on him personally. The film is expected to show the viewer a scene in which the production becomes all the more crucial for the public.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the film starts at 6:30 p.m.

There will be a Q&A immediately after the movie.
