Barton Avenue into Fresno State will be closed until Aug.18, university says

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic to Barton Avenue at Fresno State will be closed until Aug. 18 for an improvement project, according to the university’s facilities management office.

Associate Vice President of that office, Tinnah Medina said the Barton Avenue work is part of several other projects scheduled to take place on the Fresno State campus over the summer. All traffic on Barton Avenue will be closed from May 20 to Aug. 18. According to Medina, the project will include improvements for accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as addition of trees.

The construction project along Barton Avenue will start at Shaw Avenue and end at the Henry Madden Library loading dock.

“During this time, all vehicles will need to enter the campus from Shaw and Maple avenues,” Medina said. “Parking lots P30 and P31 will remain open.”

Anyone with questions is asked to call the Traffic Operations office at 559-278-2950.
