Several Fresno State students witnessed an unusual sight Wednesday after a police chase made its way to campus.

Several students reported seeing the event unfold. On Facebook, students said the incident happened near the Peters Business Building and the Science II Building on the north end of campus.

One student said police “zoomed” past her as they chased a man on a motorcycle. “I was like 10 feet away from him as he passed,” said Diana Garcia on Facebook.

Another student thought the man being chased belonged to the campus. She soon realized, she said, that it was much more than that. “I was in the small parking lot next to Science II Building and was wondering what all the sirens and helicopters were for,” said Vivian Zamudio on Facebook.

The Fresno Bee reported Wednesday that the chase involved Dean James Robert, 42. He was booked into Fresno County Jail on felony evasion charges, The Bee reported. The pursuit reportedly began around 10 a.m. and it took officers through two counties to catch the man.
