This is how much Fresno State students raised for Kids Day

Fresno State volunteers raised $41,338 in newspaper sales for this year’s Kids Day fundraiser, according to a university news release.

The annual event on March 6 brought volunteers from across the central San Joaquin Valley to help sell special editions of The Fresno Bee newspaper so proceeds could go to Valley Children’s Hospital.

Students sold newspaper as early as 6 a.m. and more than 60 Fresno State club and organizations participated in the fundraiser. Fresno State Army ROTC raised the most money — $8,000.

Taylan Bennett, special projects coordinator for the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning said she is always amazed at the dedication Fresno State students put in community service.

“It is a great reminder of the commitment Fresno State makes to support our local community,” she said in the news release.

The total amount raised for Kids Day 2018 was $627,696.
