Jewish Studies Minor to start next semester

Fresno State’s College of Social Sciences is starting a Jewish studies minor next spring.

Dr. Jill Fields, the current program coordinator for the Jewish studies program, said that new courses will be offered for the new minor.

The courses for the spring 2018 semester include: Jewish Studies 10: Jewish Civilizations; Jewish Studies 100W: Writing about the Jewish Experience; Jewish Studies 154: Jewish American Popular Culture.

The program will also begin its fall lecture series Wednesday, with a lecture titled “In Adorno’s Blind Spot: Yiddish Poetry from the Warsaw Ghetto” by Sven-Erik Rose.

The lecture begins at 6 p.m. in Henry Madden Library, Room 2206.
