Beer me! Fresno State may allow alcohol sales at sport events

California State University Chancellor Timothy White has now made it possible again for alcohol to be sold and advertised at university athletic events.

White said in a news release that because a majority of students, faculty and staff are of legal drinking age and have undergone mandatory alcohol education courses, the ability for CSUs to sell and advertise alcohol was granted.

It is now up to universities to take up the offer.

Deborah Adishian-Astone, vice president for administration and interim chief financial officer said Fresno State is considering selling alcohol at athletic venues.

“We are also working to develop a campus policy within the next few weeks that will include specific requirements as required by Executive Order 1109 including a proposed operational plan for implementation this fall,” Adishian-Astone said.

Stay tuned.
