2017 ASI election results

Fresno State’s Associated Students, Inc. announced the results for their 2017 elections Thursday at the University Student Union pavilion.

ASI Elections Commissioner Destiny Armendariz announced the results and said 3,228 students voted in this year’s election.

The winning ASI candidates are:

Blake Zante, President

Cam Patterson, Vice President of Finance

Demi B. Wack , Vice President of External Affairs

Amanda N. Smith, Senator (Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology)

Evangelia Pappas, Senator (College of Arts & Humanities)

Mario Vargas, Senator (Craig School of Business)

Chase R. Viramontes, Senator (Kreman School of Education and Human Development)

Elias J. Karam, Senator (Lyles College of Engineering)

Chelsea Haflich, Senator (College of Health & Human Services)

Kevin Ngo, Senator (College of Science & Mathematics)

Edgar Bolanos, Senator (College of Social Sciences)

Edgar Castro, Senator At-Large

Travis Childress, Senator At-Large

Josh T. Dowell, Senator At-Large

Amber K. Malhi, Senator At-Large

Primavera L. Martinez, Senator At-Large

Cassandra Ramirez-Sanchez, Senator At-Large

Cody T. Sedano, Senator At-Large

Brandon Sepulveda, Senator At-Large

Sebastian K. Wenthe, Senator At-Large

Alexandra Chavez, Senator At-Large

The ASI referendum for the addition of two additional senate positions passed.

The two additional positions are a senator or diversity, equity and inclusion and a senator for veteran and transfer affairs.

The “Bold New U” fee referendum did not pass, 1,212 student voted “Yes” and 1,846 voted “No”.

The newly elected officers will begin their term at the June 1 ASI meeting.
