Fresno State’s University Theatre will be premiering “Tar Beach,” a play exploring marriage, family dynamics and adolescence.
The play, written by Tammy Ryan and directed by theatre arts professor J. Daniel Herring, follows the story of two girls who plan to stay out all night. However, they encounter a problem due to a heatwave.
The play is set in the summer of 1977 in New York City.
“Tar Beach” will be premiering on Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. and runs through Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
