The latest models from Jaguar, Corvette, Dodge, BMW and more were on display and available for test-driving at the Fresno Convention Center for the three-day event.
The Central California Auto Show rolled through Fresno this past weekend at the Fresno Convention Center showcasing what show manager Trevor Trumbor called “the hottest vehicles of 2015.”
The three day event which started on Friday boasted over 200 of the year’s top vehicles from 17 different manufacturers including Audi, Mercedez-Benz, Jaguar, Dodge, Ford, Cadillac, Buick and GMC models.
“If you are looking for a car, this is the place to come,” said Dan Lundin, a retired autoshop teacher from Fresno. “You can sit in the car, get in and out, look at how the dials turn and the seats move, these are important things you don’t know until you sit down.”
Lundin said that he had been looking to purchase a car for his daughter serving in the military.
“I’ve been coming to the auto show for several years now, and although it isn’t as big as the one in Los Angeles, it is definitely the largest and best in the Central Valley,” Lundin said.
Vendors were also present to fill every car connoisseur’s needs, including vintage car signs and figurines from Aston Martin and BMW.
One of the most popular events of the showcase, Trumbor said, was the ability for drivers to test-drive over 10 different vehicle brands, including Ford, Chrysler, and Dodge.
Fresno City biology student Shelly Garcia, said that this was her third time coming to the showcase and looks forward every year to test-driving the new vehicles.
“My dream car was a charger or a challenger, so I wanted to come test drive one of those,” Garcia said. “I came last year, but didn’t have my license with me at the time, so I was excited to come back this year.”
Whether kickstarting research for an upcoming purchase or simply fueling an automotive passion, the showcase sponsored by Motor Trend Auto Shows Inc. was an informative, free event for all ages from a non-selling environment with no sales pressure.
The showcase provided the opportunity to view vehicles not available anywhere else in the Valley.
“You get to see brand new 2015 vehicles, including the 2015 Stingray, the new 2015 Honda fit,” Trumbor said. “What you can’t see in dealerships yet is the 2015 all-aluminum body F-150, because it’s not available at dealerships, only at this show.”
