Fresno State polished off the 3-game homestand with a win over the Cal State San Marcos Cougars Wednesday. The ‘Dogs played a physical game and dominated the boards helping them to a 4-4 home record this season.

Tensions rose throughout the game due to former Bulldog Tim Steed’s return to the Save Mart Center. The ‘Dogs had no game plan when it came to preparing for the Cougars’ big guard.

Kevin Olekaibe came alive in the second half scoring 8 of his 14 total points after a slow first half. Coming off a career-high 30-point game Saturday, the fan favorite guard was less of a factor against the Cougars draining only 8 of his 27 shots from the floor.

The ‘Dogs were flat in the first half but came out stroking in the second half outscoring the Cougars 40-29. What led the ‘Dogs to the nonconference win was a surprising performance from guard Jerry Brown.

The Bulldogs went on to beat the Cougars 66-55.
