Fresno State marching band member Nathan Ray died after his debut performance in the ‘Dogs season opener on Sun. Sept. 5, 2010.
The 18-year-old was headed eastbound on Highway 168 toward the Shepard Ave. exit when his 2002 Subaru Forester crashed into a telephone pole.
Fellow band members will gather tonight for a remembrance vigil. The Fresno State community will also honor the tuba player at the next home game on Oct. 2, 2010.Band members will wear black ribbons in his memory.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at Sierra High School in Tollhouse. Services begin at 10:30 a.m. in the large gym.
