Fresno State AFROTC is again nation’s No. 1

For the second consecutive year, the Air Force ROTC at California State University, Fresno has been named the best unit of its size in the country with the prestigious Right of Line Award.

Col. John McCain, the national AFROTC Commander from Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, was in Fresno today to present the Right of Line Award to Fresno State in a flag retreat ceremony in front of the North Gym on campus.

The 59-cadet AFROTC unit was awarded the prestigious Right of Line Award for “Best Detachment in the Nation” in the small-size detachment category, based on overall performance. Fresno State’s AFROTC Detachment 35 also won last year but in the medium-size category, when it had 61 members.

Zimbra outage

Emergency maintenance will be performed on the Zimbra system tonight starting at 11 p.m. and concluding Friday morning at 1 a.m.

Zimbra will be unavailable during this time.

Campus closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day

California State University, Fresno will observe the Veterans Day holiday on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009. All offices will be closed except the University Police Department.

In the event of an emergency, call 559.278.8400.

Classes will resume and offices will re-open on Thursday, Nov. 12.
