McElwain to stay at Fresno State

Offensive coordinator Jim McElwain announced today that he will remain with Bulldog football through the 2008 season.

McElwain was a leading candidate to take over as head coach at his alma mater, Eastern Washington University.

“I feel it’s in the best interest of me and my family to remain at Fresno State,” McElwain said in a statement. “My family enjoys Fresno, and that’s important to me.

“When I took this job, I wanted to find a good place to raise a family and put down some roots, and we have found that in Fresno.”

    A variation of this post (“I wonder if eastern washington placed an online advertisement to get their link up.”) has been deleted at least three times.

    Talk about touchy. You collegianists need some thicker skin. You can’t expect to be critical about things in your paper and not take some criticism in return.
