Sights of the Senior Art Exhibit at the Conley Art Gallery

More than two dozen Fresno State seniors had their work featured in the Senior Art Exhibit at the Conley Art Gallery on campus. Two jurors from outside the Fresno State community selected 40 works that they felt best represented the caliber of art at Fresno State. The show featured an array of work, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, screen prints and projections.

Fresno Art Museum offers unique cultural experience

Throughout the year the Fresno Art Museum offers patrons the opportunity to view a wide variety of diverse and contemporary art. The museum periodically changes up its exhibits, and the current exhibits at the museum are “Sikh: Legacy of the Punjab,” “Edges: From the California Art Collective,” “Ad Infinitum: The sculpture of Rafael X. Reichert” and “Nights in the Square: Revolution in Egypt.”

Politics and art are two subjects that are often discussed amongst people. Some artists choose to use politics as a means to find inspiration. By using art, they convey the importance of political issues. One such artist, Consuelo Underwood, uses art to discuss an important political issue: immigration.

Fresno State graduate takes art global

College graduation often symbolizes the end of one’s educational journey, but for artist and 1993 Fresno State graduate Blanka Amezkua, graduation was only the beginning of an adventure that would take her to the other side of the world and back.
