In the final home match up of the season the Fresno State volleyball team lost to Boise State in five games. The Bulldogs now hold a 2-12 WAC record.
Junior outside hitter Angela Wiggins led the team with 22 kills with Lacey Gera and Kelly Leonardo adding 16 and 10 respectively.
Early in game one the ‘Dogs and Broncos dueled back and forth but took it with a service ace and four kills, winning 30-20.
Fresno State also took game two despite a late Boise State comeback that tied the game.
Even though the ‘Dogs took the first two games, it was not enough. Game three went to the Broncos when Fresno State got three attacking errors.
Game four had Boise State leading early and not letting go. Fresno State was able to tie up game five, but the Broncos had two kills to finish off the game, 15-13.
With Senior Day over and done, the Bulldogs look to play New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech to end WAC play. Fresno State will compete for the WAC championship on Nov. 22 in Reno, Nev.
