Associated Students' involvement around campus
Associated Students would like to address the student body in saying that AS has undergone change, improvement and has continued its dedication to the student body, student life and the community of Fresno with the following examples:
Communication
• Bulldogblog.net
• Associated Students tab under all Blackboard accounts
• Campus Compass (student magazine), scheduled to launch in November
Textbooks
• AS has spoken with department chairs and faculty about affordable textbook alternatives and turning in textbook vouchers in a timely manner
• AS is currently assembling a Textbook Task Force
• AS is a part of the www.maketextbooksaffordable.com campaign
Parking and Safety
• University Police “Phone Number Change Campaign”
• Parking forum on Blackboard
UHS
• AS received 1,000 student signatures to protest construction of UHS in the amphitheater space
• Regular meetings have occurred with UHS officials and students addressing Fresno State student concerns
Activities
• AS has hosted four student tailgates with free food and tickets for students.
• AS will host a Halloween event on October 26, 2006 at the Bucket (Pub)
• Expansion and Volunteerism has doubled
• AS has registered 250 students (and counting) to vote
AS would like to bring to attention that Senate meeting minutes do not reflect any commentary or detail.
Meeting minutes are utilized for administrative and legal purposes. If the public would like to know more, Senator, Executive and updated progress reports are available on Blackboard.
