Woman on bicycle hit by truck
A female student riding her bicycle on Barstow Avenue was injured and taken to the hospital after being hit by a truck Monday, campus police said.
At 1:50 p.m., a Ford truck turning left out of lot Q hit the student, who was heading eastbound on the north sidewalk. Campus police said the truck ran over the student’s foot, injuring her leg.
“She got drug under the pick-up,” campus police Lt. Jim Lusk said.
The student was transported to St. Agnes Hospital, and the driver of the truck was questioned and then released, Lusk said.
Lusk said he does not know the condition of the student.
“People who ride bicycles have to abide to the same laws as a motor vehicle,” Lusk said. “They have to use more caution.”
