University Village held its first open house Tuesday, giving
new students as well as current residents an opportunity to tour
the complex and model unit. With only four-bedroom, four-bathroom
units left, most apartments in the complex have already been rented. “ We’re
50 percent full and plan to fill up by mid-June,” said
University Village leasing officer Mary Lou Acosta. Offering cable
hook-ups in each bedroom, a furnished living room, a computer lab
and numerous study areas, University Village has
geared its marketing with students in mind.More>>

On a typical weekday afternoon, the amphitheater stands alone. A
few students walk through on their way to class, but generally it
is empty, Dean of Arts and Humanities Luis Costa said. Costa’s
office looks upon the amphitheater, which has sat in relative vacancy
for many years. An old school hip-hop show scheduled in the amphitheater
during this year’s Vintage Days festival was moved to another
location. The Vans Warped Tour came to the amphitheater in June 2000.

Presidential Candidate Joe Lieberman visited in September of the
same year. Various commencement ceremonies have taken place there.More>>
